There are times Google’s heralded ad affiliate program isn’t in your long term business interest. Oh no I said it!
AdSense isn’t the unstoppable revenue engine for every eBusiness. Before I am taken out and flogged by the eCommerce pundits — please let me explain what I mean in my defense.
I make revenues from AdSense at a very high click-through rate. I experience high click-through rates with AdSense without resorting to questionable tactics like tricking site users with photos (the AdSense trick and tip dujour).

So my perspective is from one who has made decent income from AdSense to fund aspects of his business like advertising seminars — and outsourcing to his virtual assistants. Yes, AdSense is a legitimate and significant revenue source. However evaluate AdSense with some type of balance.
By now you may have heard about people like 6 figure income with AdSense, or Jason Calacanis of Weblogs being on his way to generating 1 million dollars in AdSense revenue. Google’s Ad revenue sharing affiliate program for publishers certainly seems to be an eSales Nirvana for many webmasters.
But there are obvious and not so obvious times not to use AdSense ads on your sites. Let’s list - examine - and explain them below.
1. On Sales or Mini-sites
This is a no-brainer. If you are trying to sell a particular product that is important to your bottomline, you don’t want AdSense ads distracting your customers from either joining your email list, or hindering your site’s online sales process.
However I do see hybrid sites that are mini-sites or full scale eCommerce sites, with AdSense at the bottom of their pages. This might not be so bad since only 1% - 15% of your site visitors will either buy from you or fill out a form.
The thinking with this approach is you might as well make money from disinterested parties using up your server’s bandwidth.
2. SEO Business Sites
If your livelihood depends on search engine optimization or marketing for a living you might want to think twice about displaying AdSense Ads on your site. I can tell you this from personal experience. I once was on top of MSN for search engine marketing in my local area. I concentrated on my local area because I found people felt more comfortable hiring an eCommerce consultant locally.
One day my site fails totally out of the MSN index. After intense study I noticed that I obviously had a filter on my site from MSN.
I analyzed all the top ranking sites in MSN and noticed the only difference between me and the other top ranking sites was I had Google AdSense ads on my site. Someone at MSN felt that my AdSense ads, and perhaps to a less extent, my book on SEO, was getting a free ride in the MSN search engine database.
In fact I noticed that there were no sites with AdSense ads for at least the first 3 pages. Plus the sites with AdSense were only using 1 ad unit at the bottom of the home page (there were very few of them in the top 5 pages).
I knew it was strange to not have AdSense ads on the top Internet marketing sites. This prompted me to scan other industries where I noticed the same trend.
Many of the leading SEO gurus have sites that have been banned from the top listings by the search engines. It seems the more visible you become, the more of a target your sites are to the search engine auditors.
Some of my sites are still on the top of MSN with AdSense ads but that doesn’t mean they won’t also be targets in the future.
Let’s face the facts. MSN and Yahoo! have competing ad networks to Google’s, and this competitive situation is rife for a potential backlash against SEO sites with AdSense ads.
Many SEOs will point to exceptions to this position. However you have been warned!
Think about it, how long will MSN and Yahoo! sit back and watch SEO driven websites use their search indexes to fund Google? Did you know SEO in MSN and Yahoo(!) — is much easier to obtain.
Therefore optimized sites are creating an ad sales wealth transfer from MSN and Yahoo into the pockets of Google! It won’t be long before Yahoo! and MSN begin to devalue ranking on AdSense sites in their databases — if not outright ban them.
If you are in the search engine business stay search engine neutral, or create multiple sites for different search engines.
3. When AdSense Becomes Your Only Business Model
When you become so myopic in your thinking that you build a business solely on AdSense revenue — think again my friend. Why build a business solely on the largess of Google?
I don’t know if your realize it or not, but the sites making the real big AdSense money usually have a following that doesn’t depend on the search engines. Internet mavens like Chris Pirillo or Joel Comm have been on the Internet a while and have followings for their websites. Therefore they can consistently make six figures with AdSense.
These content powerhouses are an asset to Google and not the other way around. But do you think Google is going to sit back and watch just anybody make big bucks off of their top rankings?
If you do a search on most keywords you will notice many of the top ranking sites are news sites, .gov sites, or .org sites these days. The only exception is in industries where these sites don’t really exist like eCommerce industries (clothing, shopping, etc.).
No doubt in most industries you will notice a conspicuous scarity of AdSense sites in the top rankings. In other words don’t bet your future fortunes on AdSense.
An IPO based on projections of AdSense revenue isn’t in the future for the average eBusiness. Think of Google AdSense as supplemental income. Building a business solely on AdSense revenue isn’t just silly — it’s just plain stupid.

AdSense Primer asked:

Two of the most important axioms of Internet marketing are to know your advertising medium and know your audience. If your AdSense ad design and placement is driven by emotion and personal preference rather than facts, then you will ultimately fail as an Internet marketer. It is imperative to use ad designs that are effective while taking into account what you know about your audience.
Let’s first talk specifically about ad design. When using Google’s text ads you do not want to use borders. Many people believe the borders make their Adsense ads stand out, and they would be correct. Therein lays the problem. You do not want your ads to stick out like a sore thumb. You’re sending a signal that this is an ad and most people have an aversion to being solicited. Therefore their reaction, in a sense, is to dodge or ignore the ad. However, if your Adsense ads look like they’re a regular part of your web page visitors to your website are more apt to scan the ads and hopefully click on them.
What about ad color? This may insult your artistic proclivities, but stay with the regular Google ad colors which consists of the blue link and black text. The reason for using this color scheme is because people are conditioned to recognize the blue text as hyperlinks and that they should click on them. Because of the blue link, your visitor’s subconscious mind is telling them that some action needs to take place. If you use some other color like bright green or pink, you are disrupting your visitor’s normal surfing habits.
Also, stay with the white background. There’s a reason why we typically write on white paper – it’s easier to read. A colored background makes the ad stand out, which is not what you want. Remember, you want the ad to blend in with the rest of your web page. Furthermore, colored backgrounds make the ad more difficult to read. Now there has been some discussion in the marketplace as to the effectiveness of using red as your link color. If you wish to give it a try that is your prerogative, but you are encouraged to stay with blue.
Regarding ad design and color, you want your AdSense ads to blend well with your site. You want them to compliment your site and appear as if they’re providing additional content. You do not want them to appear as though they are contrasting with your website. When your AdSense ads contrast with your site it creates a condition known as ad blindness. That’s right, the more your ad stands out the less likely visitors will see it.
Now that we have addressed ad color let’s talk about ad size. The best performing ad sizes according to Google are the following:
336×280 large rectangle (four ads)
300×250 medium rectangle (four ads)
160×600 wide skyscraper (five ads)
When designing your website keep these facts in mind. However, you do not want to arbitrarily squeeze certain AdSense ads into your site just because they have been designated as the best performing. The other ad sizes have value as well. The purpose of revealing these facts is to let you now that the wider formats tend to perform better. The reason is because they are more readable.
Currently Google allows you to place three text ads on each page of your site. It is suggested that you strategically max out your allotment of ads on each page. But this raises the question of “Where?”
The content of your page determines the best location to place your AdSense ads. When placing your ads there are certain things to consider.
Where is my visitor’s attention likely to be focused?
How can I place ads into an area without getting the user’s way?
How can I keep the web page clean and uncluttered?
Google provides an ad placement schematic to which they refer as their “heat map.” This is a diagram of the most productive ad placements. Here are their most productive ad locations:
> Top of the web page.
> Bottom of the web page.
> Upper left-hand corner.
> In the middle-left of your page content.
This serves only as a guideline. Put your users first when deciding on ad location. Consider their viewing habits and what will be most interesting and useful to them.
If you follow these simple guidelines regarding your AdSense ads you will discover that you will have a better response to your ads and therefore a higher click through rate. Do not allow emotions and personal preferences to determine ad design, color and placement. Your goal is to make money from your AdSense ads. If you can’t help yourself and wish to get personally creative and emotionally involved, give up Internet marketing and become an artist.

Adsense Survival Tips asked:
As it becomes more and more difficult to earn money with Affiliate marketing, earning money with Adsense is back. What is the most easiest way for a newbie to start an online business ?? Right: Adsense. You don’t have to deal with customers. Do you know why a lot of people are hesitant to start an online business? Yes, because they fear to handle customers complaints and refunds etc. What do you think is the second big hurdle people are having problems with making money online.
They think they need to sell and are not sure where to get inventory from. Guess what, with Adsense you don’t need to worry about inventory, storage, delivery etc. In simple words: Your write - You upload - You Earn ! You can simply start a blog, for example Blogger.com or Wordpress.com offer easy to use blogs. You can then start writing and adding content regularly. By doing this you will earn money from your Adsense ads you have incorporated into your site. Or you could start a directory, article or a big portal website. People add THEIR content to YOUR site and you are in business. But be aware that setting up those big directories is time intensive and costly. An alternative could be to purchase some Adsene-Ready Turnkey websites. You can simply modify one file with your Adsense code, and all article content pages automatically show Adsense ads with your code. You can then simply upload and advertise your article content pages. You will be surprised how easy it is to make money with Adsense.
And you don’t have to worry if you have chosen the right words, sales copy etc. If you funnel your traffic it’s almost impossible not making any money with Adsense. Some people might think that Ready-To-Go Adsense site are a problem for search engines as they could show some duplicate content. I have another opinion about duplicate content. If I look for a specific article I want to read and I search Google, do you think this article comes up only once? No way. For example: Some time ago I have written an article and submitted to huge number of article directories. If the myth of duplicate content would hold true I would only find my article on one site or directory. But this article has been distributed through more than 7,000 different sites all over the internet. So, does Google still index ‘duplicate content’. Sure Google does it - Big times. If Google would not index any duplicate content sites, thousands of article directories would be immediately out of business. And look at the trend !
Every day new article submission sites are born and all what they do is to show duplicate content. And do you think they earn with Adsense? You bet they are, otherwise they wouldn’t have started this business in the first place. So, if you use a combination of Ready-to-go Adsense Turnkey sites and an article directory, you simply can’t fail earning money with Adsense.

Paul Rodgers asked:
AdSense is an advertising program run byGoogle. It is a revolutionary method to earn from a websites traffic. AdSense is considered as one of the most powerful tool in a website publishers arsenal. Google AdSense has been particularly important for delivering advertising revenue to small websites that do not have the resources for developing advertising sales programs and salespeople.
Many sites use AdSense to monetize their content and some webmasters work hard to maximize their own AdSense income. Adsense revenue is generated when a visitor to your site clicks through an Adsense Ad you have displayed. When the user clicks the image, he or she is redirected to the advertiser’s website in the same way as regular AdSense advertisements.
The source of all AdSense income is the AdWords program which in turn has a complex pricing model based on a Vickrey second price auction, in that it commands an advertiser to submit a sealed bid (not observable by competitors). Combine AdSense with affiliate products, maybe selling a couple of your own products and paid blogging gigs, and yea, $500-$1k per week is possible.

Google AdSense for Mobile unlocks the potential of the mobile advertising market. As part of our ongoing efforts to develop new ways for users to find the information they need anytime and anywhere, Google announced today the availability of AdSense for Mobile, a program that contextually targets ads to mobile website content. Like its traditional AdSense program this will contextually targets ads to mobile website content. The system automatically reviews the content of publishers’ mobile websites and delivers text ads that are relevant to the websites’ audience and content. “With this program, advertisers can connect with the growing number of mobile publishers, ultimately providing users with an enhanced mobile experience that helps them find what they are looking for more quickly and efficiently on the go,” said Google, as it yesterday announced AdSense for Mobile, a program that contextually targets ads to mobile website content.
Google Adsense For Mobile
Google says that AdSense for Mobile is intended for AdSense partners who have created websites specifically for mobile browsers, and who want to monetise their mobile content via contextual advertising. AdSense for Mobile is identical to AdSense for Web sites, which places ads on participating publishers’ sites that correspond to the publishers’ content. Google Adsense for Mobile is ultimate way to make money because this is a new product so there is less competition. However, adsense for mobile is only out to certain selected publishers so far for their mobile platform optimized sites.
AdSense for Mobile gives the ability to AdSense publishing partners to earn revenue from their mobile websites through the targeted placement of mobile text ads. AdSense for Mobile provides a valuable way to connect mobile users with the right ad at the right time as they seek information on the go. Adsense Mobile text ads run on an auction model, in the same fashion to regular Adsense/ Adwords ads are offered.
“When you add the new AdSense for mobile code to your site,” explained Alex Kenin, Product Marketing Manager for AdSense for Mobile, “we’ll display relevant ads using the same targeting technology that you are familiar with for existing AdSense products. With that, Google is giving Adsense a free reign allowing AdSense publishing partners the ability to earn revenue from their mobile websites through the targeted placement of mobile text ads.
Conclusion
Mobile advertising tiny, but a potential goldmine. In fact, there are currently more mobile devices worldwide than personal computers and televisions combined. Mobile browser development is now bounding ahead. AdSense for Mobile is intended for AdSense partners who have created websites specifically for mobile browsers, and who want to monetize their mobile content via contextual advertising. AdSense for Mobile also allows AdSense publishing partners the ability to earn revenue from their mobile websites through the targeted placement of mobile text ads. Now, with the formal launch of AdSense for Mobile, Google seems to be getting into the transportability trend.

Adsense School asked:
Let me tell you a story about karma and how I made $250 by reporting an Adsense cheater!
It started when I came upon a web site where some kid was blatantly breaking the rules by asking his buddies to click on his Adsense ads.
This has got to be one of my biggest pet peeves! Why do people think they can break the rules at the expense of other peoples’ AdWords budgets?
So I did what a lot of people do… I contacted Google!
I figured Google would shut this punk down immediately. Boy was I wrong!
Every time I went back to this kid’s web site the message asking his friends to click the ads were still there! This went on for a few weeks and I really started to get ticked off at the lack of response on Google’s part.
So I decided to take matters into my own hands.
I used this software I created called “Google Sponsor Lister” (You can get it at AdsenseSchool.com) to find every sponsor who was targeting this kid’s niche.
I contacted each sponsor directly and told them there was a chance their ads were being displayed on a cheater’s site. I figured if THEY complained to Google, something would happen!
Well I guess I was right! One of the sponsors emailed me back two days later and said:
“I want to thank you for pointing out the kids clicking on my ads. I turned it over to my Google rep, and he called today to let me know Google is disabling their account. Also, he said Google is crediting me a decent amount for fraudulent clicks over the last quarter. What’s your address? I’d like to send you a little thank you gift.”
How awesome is that? I was so excited! Not because he was going to send me a “thank you gift”… but because I figured out how to get that punk’s shut down!
It’s funny how Google shut this kid down in TWO DAYS because a sponsor contacted them but when I had been trying for weeks, nothing happened. Makes you think…
Anyway… I told him he didn’t have to thank me and he definitely didn’t need to send me a gift. I was just happy to know I saved him a couple bucks and this punk got his account canceled.
He replied with the following…
“Thanks again. I actually spend several hundred thousand dollars a month on Google, so at least they responded to me quickly. Also, the rebate they gave me was fairly substantial (several thousand). I’d really like to buy you an Amazon gift certificate or an iPod or something if you’d like to tell me how to send it to you, because I don’t think I would have been proactive about this if you hadn’t contacted me. Either way, it’s great that you’re being a good samaritan.”
SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS? I thought I saved him a couple bucks at most!
I was floored when I read that because I knew Adsense cheaters hurt sponsors but I never thought it was that bad!
So I told him if he REALLY wanted to send me an iPod or an Amazon gift certificate, I wouldn’t stop him!
He ended up sending me an Amazon.com gift certificate worth $250!
Long story short… I am now a true believer in Karma!
I think this teaches us a couple important lessons…
First, telling Google about Adsense cheaters is fruitless… but informing the sponsors, and asking them to contact Google, works immediately!
And second, ripping off AdWords sponsors is big business. Don’t think for a second it’s a victimless crime!
Oh and now I’m a true believer in Karma!
Maybe you won’t make $250… but at the very least you’ll help get rid of another Adsense thief and save a business owner some money

Mickie Kennedy asked:
7 tips and tricks to make your AdSense ad receive more clicks and more profit!
Find out how to deal with a few little tricks to increase your AdSense revenue dramatically …
The First tip: - Tip #1
Use the proper framework for AdSense. Google AdSense offers you the ability to change the appearance of your AdSense display. It has been shown that AdSense without a framework bring more clicks than AdSense with a frame. Internet users have developed enough savvy to recognizes advertisements on a site immediately.
Once you have a framework for your AdSense ads it “triggers” the users to avoid clicking on the ad.
More often than not, this flags the user to simply ignore it!
An AdSense ad on your website, which has framework results in the visitors doing nothing more than ignoring your banner.
Avoid anything immediately recognized as a advertising. This is particularly true for the when there is a frame outside your text link AdSense ads. Define your settings in the configuration of the AdSense simply the border color with the same color as your site background. Thus, for example: Home White background = white AdSense framework.
The Second - Tip #2
Setting the text color and the color of the hyperlink AdSense ads The case is similar with the color of the text and the link color. If you do not want your AdSense ads to be immediately recognized by visitors. You must define the text color as well as the hyperlink color, just as your home page text and links on the homepage also appear. If that is your hyperlinks to your site are displayed in green so you define the link color in the AdSense ads with the same green color. The same applies to the AdSense text, even this should be the same color of the text.
Try using light grey for both your text and your Google Adsense ADS.
The Third - Tip #3 What is the most efficient AdSense format for use on your home page?
This point can not be quite so easy to define, because ultimately, the AdSense format also must somehow fit into your home page. With great certainty a less efficient AdSense format is the banner 468 x 60!!
This is because this format is the standard format of banner ads, and thus immediately recognized as an advertisement by most internet users.
As mentioned above, today’s Internet users have added the banner format 468 X 60 in their memory and immediately recognize it as a banner, even if that includes text ads. Avoid if possible using this banner format in the installation of your AdSense on your site. As one of the most effective banner formats, the AdSense format 336 x 280 is proven to be more effective.
Properly configured and deployed, it is with this format on a homepage that you will see the greatest results. Most people don’t filter this out and recognize this as advertising.
The Fourth Tip - # 4 Never build a website based soley on one niche and Adsense.
You should avoid all your Internet revenue being solely based on AdSense. Because what happens when Google internal business policy changes, or your account gets hijacked?
I’ve been reading a few forums and blogs about Google Adsense tips lately, and thought it would be helpful to consolidate as many as possible in one place without the comments. I’ve also thrown in a few tips of my own. We start out with some of the basic general stuff and move to the more specific topics later on…..
Build an Empire….?
When you’re deciding to become a website publisher you will fall into one of two broad categories:
• Publish 100 websites that each earn $1 a day profit?
• Publish 1 website that earns $100 a day profit?
The reality of it is, most people end up somewhere in between. Having 100 websites does indeed leave with maintenance, management and content issues. But having one website also leaves you open to all sort of fluctuations (search engines algorithm’s, market trends, etc)…..
You can adapt your plan on the way, but you’ll have an easier time if you start out going in the direction of where you want to end up.
Would you rather start a soda vending machine business and maintain 100 vending machines everyday?
Or would you rather work from the comfort of your home slowly growing and maintaining 100 websites?
It will take time but start with one build it and let it settle for a month or so while you continue creating niche based websites.
You will spend a minimal amount of money and lots of time getting started but…..would you pay $200 a month for 3 months learning a business that will pay you back your initial investment for a continued period of time?
I would happily pay $2000 for a few months to learn a business that could ultimately make me $2000 per month for the rest of my life…..
The secret that will make your AdSense revenues can double. There are ways in which your current AdSense revenue up to 100% or more can increase by a small but effective trick - even the pros use - for the design of your AdSense ads………
Well … Do I have your attention?
Tests on my websites have actually shown that this effect is not stunt his misguided and thus the turnover was substantially increase it.
Tip Fifth Tip - #5 Where should the AdSense units to be placed As mentioned above, it is most effective when the AdSense running on your home page text can be implemented.
“…..The best so that the text will flow around the AdSense and thus creates a visual layout, as would the AdSense for content on your web site belongs…..”
Tip ixth Tip - #6 Now I know how to improve my CTR but how can I improve my earnings? AdSense is one of the best tools you can use to draw dollars to your site. Remember that there is no easy way to make money on Adsense… it takes a lot of work.
“…..You can start of by blocking low paying advertisers with Filters……”
Why to loose a visitor for 0.01 cents?
Use Overture or Google Adwords Keywords tool to discover keywords that are less popular with advertisers.
Tip #7 AdSense How many boxes can be placed on a website?
Google allows you to three ad units and one link unit per page. How many should you use?
“….Quite simply, everything you can. You are three ad units and an ad link unit. Provided of course that you have enough text on your home page, it is possible that not all units ads are filled with ads…..”
Check after a few days to see whether all the Adsense ads are relevant. You know what AdSense ads bring the most revenue in you’re niche.
“……In the Setup menu in Google AdSense, you have the possibility of using your AdSense channels units in groups to capture statistics. This provides Google with a little more focused way to know which groups AdSense better turnover and which are not as likely to be clicked….”
If you want to take things even further you can also…
• Discover what AdSense ads are clicked find the provider of the AdSense ads, or the website on which the advertisement, and find it even more possibilities and partner and sell affiliate products.
For example, if you notice that your Site visitors often ads to click on a particular topic would be also a product that you are on your site can offer, because it seems to be the case that your target audience to a need for this product.
So why not own the product offering as an affiliate and earn more margin than just a few cents with AdSense?
Some Brief History about me….
I’ve always been extremely eager to learn about all of the ways you can make money from the internet.
There are so many different ways to make money, I’ll admit that it can get very overwhelming.
But, if you boil everything down into the one “thing” that is necessary to generate money online - “it comes down to how well you can generate “targeted” traffic to your website.”
When I started online, way back in the early 2000s, I owned a aquariam supply related website.
I managed to get my website to the top of Google for the most competitive keywords in the world. Keywords like: salt water aquarium, aquarium supplies, wholesale aquarium supplies
I put ALOT of work into getting my website to the top of Google for those keywords. Why did I spend so much time and effort to try and rank highly for those keywords?
I’ll tell you exactly why… Because I knew those keywords would send ALOT of traffic to my site. Back in the day, I thought…
Alot of traffic = Alot of sales…..!
WRONG……..
I mean, heck, common sense would tell you that the more traffic you got to your website, the more sales you would make, right?
WRONG … Back then, I, like most other people, thought that’s the way it all worked, or I obviously wouldn’t have spent to much time and effort on those keywords.
Let me explain….
While I did have #1 rankings for nearly every single major keyword related to the aquarium supplies industry and it was bringing in over 10,000 visitors to my dinky little website PER DAY, the conversion rate (i.e. the amount of sales I made per visitor) was ridiculously low.
I sold roughly 1 product for every 1,000 people that came to my site.
That’s a .1% conversion rate. You heard me right, “point one percent”.
If you don’t know what a good conversion rate is, let me just say that you should never have below a 1 percent conversion rate, let alone a .1 percent. Getting 1,000 visitors to your site per day takes a heck of a lot of work….
“…..If I had to do it all over again, I would NOT spend my time on such broad, competitive keyword phrases like: weight loss. … only to have such a poor visitor value and very little return for my time and effort…..”
I would spend my time ranking for, bidding on, and basing my entire business on keywords that are already 100% proven to convert visitors into buyers….
Because, let’s face it, we want people to come to our website and BUY our stuff. We don’t want people visiting our site if they’re just going to leave, right….?
There are two major problems that online marketers have, and they are:
They focus on extremely broad keywords that just bring a lot of random traffic to their websites. They don’t know how to properly research their market to find which people are buying what they’re selling.
Because you’ve read up to this point, problem #1 should no longer be a sticking point for you. It can lead to a lot of extra work, with very little results.
“……In fact, in my case, it was downright depressing to have 10,000 daily visitors, only to make 10 sales a day. I had imagined that when the day came that I had 10,000 daily visitors, I’d be sitting on the beach somewhere, sipping margaritas
and that obviously didn’t happen….”
So, at this point, the only problem that remains is not knowing how to properly research a market or niche, to find exactly which people are buying what you’re selling.
Well, guess what……?
Even though it took me 3 years of my life to come to grips that in order to make a heck of a lot of money on the internet, you absolutely have to focus on very specific, targeted keywords…
I finally learned, and because of this, I’ve been able to help thousands of other achieve the type of online success I’ve been fortunate enough to have.
I want you to visit my website for more tips. l show you exactly which keywords you should focus on, to literally triple or more, the amount of money you make from your online business.

Google Adsense Knowledge asked:
If you’ve been using Google’s AdSense on your pages you obviously feel the need to somehow generate even more traffic for your website, which in turn would translate to more AdSense click and a higher income.
But who do you do this? Well, the major way you’ll get visitors to see your website (other then using AdWords, which is encouraged as well) is to use some techniques to have search engines send more and more users towards your page, by ranking high in search results for your topics of interest.
Believe it or not this is a technique, better known as search-engine optimization or simply SEO. So here are a bunch of tips that come handy under every amateur or professional optimizer’s belt.
The first thing you need to take care of is the actual source code and layout of your page. This has to be kept as simple as possible. The problem comes when AdSense and the search engines themselves begin to have troubles in extracting the most relevant keywords on your site because of a too complex layout.
Secondly, try to have each one of your pages target only one specific topic. This way it is a lot easier for them to get indexed properly and for the AdSense ads to be consistent with the content of the site itself.
Also, try not to include too many hyperlinks in your page as well. This also means you should try not to use too many AdSense ads on your page either.
If there are certain keywords you wish to target, make sure the word you wish to target is present in the title, in the first paragraphs as well as in the name of the file. While you’re at it you might want to ensure the word springs up in the page’s last paragraphs.
And of course, it’s very important for your content to have original and compelling content. How do you do this? Well the easiest way to do it is to find something you’re really passionate about. That way, providing you give it a lot of effort you’re bound to have a great page quite fast.
If the content you use in your site is in the public domain (which is highly discouraged) make sure that you at least give it an original title, and add an opening and a closing paragraph of your own.
This takes a little while, but if, after waiting, you still can’t find your page near the top, you should try rewriting your title and your first and last paragraphs. It doesn’t take much, often just changing a few words will give you the right results.
And of, course there’s the use of keyword tools that may aid you in finding some good keywords to include on your page that will drive visitors to your site more and more.
So those are about the basic techniques in search engine optimization. You can find a lot of computer tools to aid you in doing this, and of course, Google is a great place to search for this.
In the end, you’ll find that SEO is a complex topic, and entire books have been written on the topic as well. You might find that you have a lot of optimization you need to do in order to get more and more visitors to your site and clicking those precious AdSense banners.
You need to have optimized niche website templates for best results. You may find the best adsense templates and blog templates at Adsense Big. They are offering 100 fresh new templates every month.
